The Wolf Among Us 2 has not been cancelled

Have you heard rumors about The Wolf Among Us 2 being cancelled? According to Telltale Games, this information is incorrect. The title is still in development and will not be released until it is ready. The studio announced this in a new statement.

Recent rumors have suggested that development for The Wolf Among Us 2 is not going well and that the game is about to be cancelled. According to Telltale Games, something was completely wrong. The studio stated that it does not like to respond to rumours, but confirmed that development of The Wolf Among Us 2 continues unhindered. Fans will hear more traps when the time is right.

However, it is not surprising that fans are concerned. The title was announced back in 2022 and was scheduled for release in 2023. Meanwhile, that release has been postponed to 2025. The title will be a sequel to the 2013 spin-off of the same name. The game is based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic series, which depicts fairytale characters in a dark noir setting.

When the game was delayed in 2023, Telltale Games simply stated that more time was needed because the studio wanted to deliver the sequel that fans deserved. Development was also moved from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, meaning several parts had to be recreated.

The studio was already aware of the consequences of an incomplete release. “If we release the game when it’s not finished, we will be destroyed as a studio on the ground. Expectations are very high and we want enough time to meet those expectations, so that we can deliver a game that we can be proud of as well.
