Are you also terrified when you see a big, fat spider? So you’re ready to have fun when you start playing Monster Hunter Wilds. The game offers a special option for players with spider phobia.
PU’s duty editor couldn’t be happier with this option, which replaces the eight-legged monsters and other insect-like creatures with green bits of slime. The option has been discovered in the open beta available to PlayStation Plus subscribers since today. Not the most creative alternative, but hey: at least here in our house we’re no longer throwing out seven colors of shit when fighting a spider.
Monster Hunter Wilds is certainly not the first game to offer such an option. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, and Grounded also offer this option. The latter two games feature spiders on sleds and caterpillar-like enemies respectively when the option is enabled. By the way, it’s not yet clear what happens to the insect-like monsters in the full version, because the beta naturally only has a limited number of monsters to fight.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series
