Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Sexually assaulted me in the past abroad

Democratic Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) spoke on Instagram about her experience of storming the Capitol. She talks for the first time about how she was sexually assaulted in the past. “The people who say we should leave the Capitol events behind are using the same tactics the aggressors are using.”




Democracy addressed its followers on Instagram Live on Monday in a touching video. She talked about the storming of the Capitol and how her experience was affected by what she’s gone through in the past. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed for the first time publicly that she was sexually assaulted. “I haven’t told a lot of people about this yet, but when we’re in shock, the shock builds up.”

In addition to the traumatic event, the AOC is basically bothering people and asking them to leave it behind. “People who say we should go on with our lives, that it is okay, forget what happened or even say that we should apologize, they use the same tactics that the aggressors use.”
