Australian Cleo (4) disappears during a camping trip with an old…

Australian police have launched the hunt for four-year-old Cleo Smith after the girl suddenly disappeared from her tent at night from Friday to Saturday. It happened during a camping trip with her family. Neighbors are asked to look for a red sleeping bag.

Cleo and the rest of the family camped out a few dozen miles from the town of Caernarvon in Western Australia. Mother Ellie Smith said to the announcer ABC who last saw her baby around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. Then the girl asked for water. In the morning the tent was open and the girl disappeared. Besides Cleo, there was another daughter in the tent, Isla. She is with her parents.

Pink Butterfly Pajamas

Also gone are the pink butterfly pajamas that Cleo slept in, as well as her gray and red sleeping bag. The police shared pictures of things. Smith thinks someone knows where her daughter is. It must be. It’s been four days now. You will never leave the tent alone.

Authorities are considering all scenarios, including kidnapping. Police believe that in this case, she may also have been transferred to another part of the country.

Emergency services are searching for the girl with drones and say she is “extremely concerned”. Search is hampered by bad weather. It rains heavily and the winds are strong. Building owners in the area were ordered to hand over their keys to the police. They can then search the building.

‘Waiting is hard’

Many Australians sympathize with the family. For example, a local helicopter company helps with the search. The stores also labeled the little one in pink pajamas. “The support is overwhelming, but we only want one thing, and that is for our daughter to come home and hold her in our arms again,” says mum Ellie. “There is little we can do ourselves. The wait is hard.
