Bloober team unable to respond to Silent Hill 2 rumor due to ‘partner relationship’

There have been a lot of rumors about Silent Hill lately and one of the reports is that the Bloober team is working on Silent Hill 2 remake† Meanwhile, the Polish developer replied On rumors, but not with the message you’d expect.

According to CEO Piotr Babieno, the developer is unable to comment on the recent rumors due to partner relationships. It also states that the developer will make an announcement about future games as soon as possible.

We cannot comment on anything we do because of course we value our relationship with our partners. So we can’t [say] Any thing. We will announce our future projects as soon as possible. Then you’ll know more.”

That in itself says something, because if the rumor is not true, why not just deny it? In addition, Babieno went a little further in the fact that the developer works with a partner on a licensed basis, which can be a challenge. Especially since the Bloober team wants to keep its own identity.

“I would say that it is difficult to work with someone [owns an IP you’re working on]but we always talk to those licensees, [saying] Guys, we’d love to use your license, but we’d like to tell our own story. If we couldn’t tell our own story, if we didn’t have creative freedom, it wouldn’t make sense, because the Bloober team wouldn’t make a great game. If you’re in a prison, you won’t be able to fly. That’s why we just try [make] Those nicknames that we feel like, ‘Okay, it’s going to be a Bloober Team game, not someone [else’s]† So even in the project we can’t talk [about]The Bloober team title will remain.”

There is no denying or confirming, but we confirm that we are working with a partner. Add that with current rumors and between the lines it could be interpreted as saying the developer is already working on something about Silent Hill.

In addition, the developer already indicated last year that it was working on a terrifying IP with a very popular publisher. At the same time, Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka announced that he will be collaborating with the Bloober team, having previously done so with The Medium.

Finally, in June 2021, Bloober Team is a strategic partnership with Konami entered into† In other words, the smoke is getting heavier and it seems like it’s basically a matter of time until the announcement comes along.
