Canva’s developer platform is expanding with new improvements. Canva is launching new APIs available in the Apps SDK. The platform adds the following APIs: Content Query (Beta), Edit Design (Beta), Tables, and Authentication. Additionally, Canva now also offers a free built-in translation service. Developers can now translate apps into eight different languages to encourage internationalization.

Additionally, Canva is improving app visibility. Apps now appear at “just in time” at different UI entry points in the Canva editor. The Canva community is most likely to discover these apps, starting from the image editing panel and the “Elements” tab, to the “Text Edit” tab, or in Canva Docs.
Finally, Canva is introducing the opportunity to earn money through its new Premium Apps program. Developers can now include premium features in their apps and get paid for these features based on user engagement. This gives developers the opportunity to create advanced tools and functionality that can be integrated with paid subscriptions. This provides added value to Canva’s growing community while lowering customer acquisition costs.
