The weight carried into the Netherlands by 2020 increased by 0.2 percent 561 million Tons. Most of the weight carried by Dutch lorries, 82 per cent, is transported into the Netherlands. Internationally transported weight by road will be reduced from 129 million tons in 2019 125 million Tons in 2020, down 2.7 percent.

About 30 percent of the weight carried by Dutch trucks is agricultural products and other food items. Transportation of these products increased by 3.0 percent by 2020. Transportation of sand, gravel and construction materials increased by more than 2.6 per cent to one-fifth of all goods carried. Transportation of petroleum products and fertilizers also increased. Transportation of goods such as minerals, steel, chemicals and public goods fell by 4.6 percent in 2020.

Less goods from the Netherlands to overseas
Overseas shipments to and from the Netherlands will be reduced by 1 percent by 2020. The decline was due to overseas (-3.6 per cent) traffic from the Netherlands. The weight of goods transported to the UK by Dutch lorries has been reduced by 12.7 per cent. It was 9.7 percent for France and 5.8 percent for Belgium. The weight of Dutch lorries transported to Germany, the most important foreign destination, increased by 0.6 percent. The volume of goods shipped to the Netherlands from abroad increased by 2.1 percent by 2020.

Slightly above professional traffic
By 2020, Dutch professional transporters made a lot of traffic 551 million Tons of goods, 0.2 percent more than a year ago. About 80.4 percent of the total weight carried by Dutch trucks is carried by professional haulers. Own transportation, through which goods are carried by the company, declined by 2.6 percent by 2020.
