The 96-year-old Queen of the United Kingdom wore a light blue suit with a matching hat and was propped up on a walking stick. Together with her cousin Edward, the Duke of Kent, she watched the Trooping the Color parade. Queen Elizabeth usually does so at Horseguards Parade, the main exhibition grounds in central London, but due to her health, she has stayed at London Palace this year. Later in the day, at around 2pm, the Queen will again appear on the balcony to watch the RAF overflight. She is expected to accompany her children Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward and their wives, grandson Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton and their children. Three of her cousins are also expected to arrive on the balcony this afternoon.

Thus, three members of the royal family are absent. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who live in California, America, have distanced themselves from the family and are no longer welcome. Prince Andrew, the Queen’s youngest son, has also been banned from the balcony since he was removed from office following sexual assault allegations.

Since 2019, the Queen has appeared on the palace balcony, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
