Kitjen Amsterdam takes part in Science Weekend 2024

AMSTERDAM – On October 5 and 6, 2024, it’s time again: Science Weekend. A weekend in which everyone everywhere in the Netherlands can take a look behind the scenes of various organizations and institutions in the field of science and technology.

Kitjen Amsterdam is also participating! On Saturday 5 October, Ketjen opens its doors to everyone aged 12 and over who are interested in science and/or Ketjen. On this day you can have a look at the company for free from 10:00 am. Registration is mandatory and can be done via the news on the company’s website: www.ketjen.com/nl/nieuws

About the open day at Kitgen
At Ketjen they make a product that you need to process the oil from plastic in such a way that you can turn it into plastic again. This means that less oil must be extracted from the ground. This is a great contribution to a cleaner world. The product that Ketjen makes is called the Catalyst. Ketjen will show you exactly what it is and how you can use it to reuse oil during the open day on Saturday 5 October. You will receive a tour that day and can also do some experiments yourself.

About Science Weekend
Science is everywhere and always around us, sometimes without us even realizing it. It is the foundation of technology, medicine, and our knowledge of the world around us. But how much do we actually know about the science behind our daily lives? This year during Science Weekend, we will look at the question: “How does this work?” From “How Did a Dinosaur Work?” to “How does the sun work?” During the Science Weekend, children can search for answers to these and many other questions, taking them on a fascinating journey through science.
