Rufus can now automatically create a local Windows 11 account for you

Rufus now has a profile Option to create a Windows account automatically. If you install Windows using a USB stick made in Rufus, it will immediately be provided with a local account.

There are still some limitations: the account gets the same name and region settings as the account you made the USB on, with a blank password. When you log in for the first time, you will be asked to set a new password.

In the meantime, Rufus already offers several advantages over Microsoft’s media creation tool, especially for creating USB devices to install Windows 11. The option to bypass Microsoft account requirements has been added recently, as well as the ability to automatically answer all those pesky data-collection questions with “Don’t Allow”. Rufus has long been known as a tool for bypassing Windows 11’s rpm requirements.

From Change It’s not entirely clear which versions of Windows are for automatic account creation. We assume that Windows 10 and 11 are supported anyway. When using Windows 11 ISO, the option will appear in any case, although you must first press “Start”.
