Shell opens fast-charging plaza in United Kingdom • TTM.nl

Shell is working hard to develop fast charging solutions for trucks. It already exists in the Netherlands, for example at Truckstop 8, but now the first truck stop with fast chargers is also in the United Kingdom in Markham Moor.

Markham Moor is Shell’s first truck stop with loaders designed for heavy vehicles. The site is approximately 25 miles south of Doncaster, 25 miles south east of Sheffield and close to the A1 – a major arterial road linking major cities and regions across the UK.

The facility has long been a lifeline for truck drivers, providing a variety of fuels for their journeys and driving comfort. The place has a truck parking with around 122 spaces which are accessible 24 hours a day with surveillance at night. Next to the truck stop is Markham Moor station, with a small Waitrose branch where drivers can access an always-open shop, toilets and shower facilities.

By adding a 400kw charger at Markham Moor, it will support the area in reducing emissions, while encouraging local transport and delivery companies to start their conversion or quickly fill our site. Book & Fee can be used at Markham Moor.
