Sweet: Prince William’s children pay homage to Princess Diana on Mother’s Day

This is the second year in a row that Mother’s Day cannot be celebrated in the UK. But that doesn’t stop Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (5) and Prince Louis (2) from putting their mother Kate and their ‘grandmother’ Princess Diana in the light. “Many of us may not be with our loved ones, but we look forward to a time in the future when we can hug our mothers again,” Kensington Palace writes on social media.

Prince William and Kate extend their condolences to those ‘in the process of mourning’. “We understand how difficult this period can be,” they report. That’s why their kids have made special notes for their late grandmother Princess Diana. “I love you so much, I will always remember you,” George writes. ‘I have been thinking about you. (…) Dad always misses you, ‘said Charlotte. Little Louis could not write yet, but processed his message into a work of art. The trio baked a cake for the hearing.

Prince Harry and Megan do not attend Mother’s Day celebrations in the UK. The couple has been living in California since they left as senior members of the British royal family. Their departure has angered Prince William, as can be seen in the video below.
