Utrecht Science Week has begun

Utrecht Science Week kicked off at the Utrecht Science Park on Friday 27 September. Until Sunday 6 October, visitors will have a unique opportunity to learn about Utrecht’s pioneering science and innovations. Visitors can register for various courses for free Program components.

Current topics

In the Utrecht Science Park, leading knowledge institutions, research institutes and companies work intensively together to find solutions to major social issues. These pioneering collaborations and innovations are highlighted during Utrecht Science Week. The week offers a diverse program that includes lectures, tours, dialogue sessions, panel discussions, knowledge markets, and more. On current topics such as preventive health care, climate change, animal-free innovation, socially responsible research and regenerative medicine. Topics that are worked on every day at the Utrecht Science Park with joint efforts, heart and soul.

Different target groups

Utrecht Science Week is interesting for the staff and students of the Utrecht Science Park, but it is certainly also interesting for professionals and residents from the region or the whole country. For families with children, there is a science weekend with experiments, tours, workshops and craft activities.

Healthcare of the future

For example, a public event will be held on Tuesday, October 1,”Future Hospital“, where UMC Utrecht shows how your cells could be used as medicine in the future. It shows how Utrecht is at the forefront of ‘regenerative medicine’.

Science Weekend

Utrecht Science Week will conclude on the weekend of 5 and 6 October with the annual event “Science WeekendEveryone is welcome there, because science is of course open to everyone, but the focus is on families with children between 8 and 14 years old. At least seven organizations in the Utrecht Science Park have come up with great activities, such as experiments, tours and workshops, To introduce visitors to science in various aspects The participating organizations are Utrecht University (and Botanical Gardens), Hubrecht Institute, Westerdijk Institute, UMC Utrecht, Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital, Princess Máxima Center and KNMI.
