Windows 11 explodes in many ways: Autocorrect is missing

Windows 11 users face issues with various features of the operating system. Microsoft attributes the failure to an expired certificate.

As of October 31, the new snipping tool, touch keyboard, emoticon keyboard, start menu, voice typing control, and hints section are barely or no working. Microsoft released a patch (KB4006746) to solve three of the four problems. The patch is not available automatically and can only be downloaded and run manually.

While the patch fixes issues with the hint section and keyboard functionality, the Snipping Tool remains unusable. The application was introduced with Windows 11 to offer a more user-friendly alternative to the print screen functionality. Ironically, Microsoft is now advising to avoid the tool for the time being — and instead back down from the way it replaced it: print screen functionality, paste into Paint, and save the image and use it at will.

“We are working on a fix and will provide an update when more information becomes available,” a Microsoft spokesperson said.
