96 AMD Epyc Genoa CPU Headers Spotted, Expected Along With Ryzen 7000

According to YuuKi_AnS, AMD is set to announce Zen 4 based Epyc server chips along with Ryzen 7000 processors, rumored to be this month. The Twitterer also shared an image of an Epyc 9654, a Genoa CPU that would pack 96 cores with a TDP of 360W.

Looking at the tray in which the 9654 is located, it appears to be a load of more than one copy, indicating that development and production are on schedule. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case at Intel, as Sapphire Rapids is once again delayed and not expected until 2023.

Based on information previously shared by YuuKi_AnS, it appears that AMD will not only release next-generation server processors earlier, but also offer more cores than its competition. In early July, the leaker shared the lineup of both manufacturers, showing that the top-of-the-line SPR model has 60 cores and 120 threads on board. On the other hand, AMD Genoa has up to 96 cores, half more than its predecessor.

Expected lineups from AMD Genoa and Intel Sapphire Rapids.
