Self-tested: OnePlus Nord 2

With the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus scored a high score last year. With the OnePlus Nord 2, the successor has been launched and with this the smartphone maker wants to take a big step forward in the middle segment. The device was immediately dubbed “The Flagship Killer of 2021”. We were allowed to test the OnePlus Nord 2.

luxury design

The OnePlus Nord 2 is available in two colours: Blue Haze and Gray Sierra. The first thing you notice is that the successor of the North weighs quite a bit, but it certainly isn’t annoying. The device is firmly held in the hand and is made of Gorilla Glass. This provides a more luxurious touch. Unfortunately, the device is not dust and water resistant, but OnePlus solves that by offering a cover as standard. The 6.43 inch AMOLED display has a refresh rate of 90Hz. This ensures dynamic and smooth animations. Finally, the display also has an on-screen fingerprint scanner for secure and easy unlocking of the smartphone or, for example, to make payments.

four cameras

OnePlus Nord 2 can count on three cameras on the back and one on the front: a 32MP selfie camera with Sony IMX615 sensor. At the back, you can count on an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel mono lens. The main camera is undoubtedly 50 megapixels with optical image stabilization. With a Sony IMX766 sensor, this camera delivers great results both during the day and at night, thanks in part to the Nightscape Ultra mode. This gives you clearer and better images in all possible conditions. Of course you can also shoot with OnePlus Nord 2. With 30fps and AI video optimization, the result is amazing.

unique performance

Nord 2 can count on a new processor: MediaTek Dimensity 1200. In addition to various AI features, this ensures unique performance. Using apps and games is very smooth. You can also choose between 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Expanding the memory with a microSD card is unfortunately not possible. The smartphone comes standard with Android 11 with OxygenOS software, but the update to Android 12 and above 13 is guaranteed by OnePlus. Moreover, the device has two 5G SIM card slots.

worry-free battery

With OnePlus Nord 2, you can use Warp Charge 65 fast charging technology. This allows you to charge the smartphone to 100 percent in half an hour. With standard use, the battery lasts for about two days without the need for recharging. Long battery life, so you can go about a day without worries.
