In the UEFA Youth League, promising teams from clubs in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League compete against each other and against teams that have become champions of the U-19 competition in their home country. This was the qualification criterion for the young Alkmaar side, the main team playing in the conference league this year, with a place in the semi-finals secured last week.
AZ was better than Hajduk throughout the entire match. On the way to the final, under-19 teams Eintracht Frankfurt, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sporting Clube de Portugal were defeated.
