Google will launch Android 15 in October

Android 15 will launch in October. The annual OS upgrade will be ready after that, according to a warning from Google.

Android 15

This warning pops up when you switch back to Android 14 from Android 15 Beta 4.2. You will then see a message on the screen that the stable version of Android 15 will not be available until October. Android 15 testing also ended after QPR testing began.

At the moment, it’s only Google’s own phones that will get the upgrade. All other brands have yet to make their own skin on top of Android 15 work properly and test it. Even Samsung has delayed the beta, probably due to the rather extensive updates it has already rolled out this year to add Galaxy AI to as many devices as possible.

Beta worked well.

Although Android 15 testing has ended in official testing, it seems that Google still needs some time for everything to become completely stable. AndroidAuthority The upgrade is expected in September and we believe there is still some final touches to be done before Google can move forward with this stable launch. Meanwhile, as far as we know, no major issues have emerged from recent testing.

So we’ll have to wait a little longer for Android 15, which won’t bring any major changes. There are some additional privacy options and the ability to hide things on your phone, as well as some material changes, but otherwise it’s not a wild upgrade. It’s still unknown when exactly Google will release it: not even whether it will be at the beginning or end of the month. Mid-October is expected. In fact, it’ll probably come as a surprise: we’ll be keeping an eye out for that.
