Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspends presidential campaign, endorses Donald Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is no longer a candidate to become the next president of the United States. “Deep down, I know I no longer have a chance to win the November election,” Kennedy said at a news conference. “So I can no longer ask volunteers to work long hours on my campaign, or continue to take money from donors.”

“That’s why I’ve decided to suspend my campaign,” the candidate continues. “My name will remain on the ballot in states where I cannot be a witness. And in 10 states where there are contests, my name will be removed from the ballot.”

Meanwhile, Kennedy is throwing his support behind Republican candidate Donald Trump. He notes that he has criticized some of Trump’s decisions as president, but that they are now on the same page on some important issues. He points to, among other things, the situation on the border with Mexico, the determination to solve the epidemic of childhood diseases and protecting freedom of speech.

According to Kennedy, Trump asked him to be part of his cabinet if the Republican won the election. He added: “He proposed joining forces in an arrangement that would allow us to discuss the issues on which we disagree, while allowing us to work together on the existential issues on which we agree.”
