Indiana Jones Studio ‘Very Happy’ to Release on PS5

One of the biggest reveals during the Gamescom Night Live opening ceremony was that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would also be released on PlayStation 5. Apparently, this was a joy for developer MachineGames, as the studio is very pleased with the launch on Sony’s console.

Creative director Axel Torvenius and design director Jens Andersson couldn’t contain their joy in a recent interview with EurogamerFor example, the outlet asked for their thoughts on the PS5 launch and before journalist Tom Phillips could finish speaking, Anderson threw his hands in the air and shouted, “Hey!”

Torvenius then added that “MachineGames as a whole is very pleased and excited to have Indiana Jones on PlayStation 5.” The more players can play the games, and “see the passion and love we put into the game,” the better.

Anderson then admitted that MachineGames had always wanted to bring the title to PlayStation 5, but the developer wasn’t allowed to make that decision on its own. Both gentlemen then mentioned that the game was developed on a cross-platform engine, so optimizing for PS5 wouldn’t take long.

It should come as no surprise that both gentlemen are happy to launch the game on PS5. Of the three console platforms, Xbox has the smallest player base. Launching on PS5 is not only great for PlayStation fans, it also helps the game achieve much higher sales numbers.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release on December 9 for Xbox Series X and PC. The game will also come to PlayStation 5 in 2025, likely starting in April.
