We in the Left Party believe that the Gävleborg Region, in all agreements with private healthcare providers, should have transparency on how tax money is used, and therefore open book requirements should be introduced so that the money goes to its intended purpose; That is, health care. Citizens should feel safe that tax money is going where it should be.

Swedish businesses use the open books model in agreements with subcontractors, and in Great Britain, among others, the model is used at municipal level.
Private healthcare companies now have an information advantage over the district and residents, despite the fact that it is the district and all residents of the district who finance the operations of the healthcare companies.
Through open accounting, it is also possible to ensure that unreasonable profits are not taken out of the business. We in the Left Party also want restrictions on the distribution of profits.
Therefore, the Left Party has now taken the initiative to introduce open accounting and profit-limiting requirements in the Gävleborg District Agreement with private healthcare companies.
