Mark Gillis
“It is indescribable how happy we are that Mark has woken up and is able to breathe on his own again. After living between hope and fear for more than two weeks, thankfully Mark is taking steps forward. Gillies, 28, was admitted to hospital in a critical condition late last month. He was found to have serious pneumonia.
On Monday, the doctors carefully checked to see if he could breathe without the ventilator. He has tolerated this well and is slowly waking up. It is important to be very careful so that he does not relapse and can continue to recover step by step. We are very proud of Mark’s willpower and what he has endured.
Excellent care
Once again he praises all the help at the hospital. “Thank you to all the doctors and nurses for their patience and excellent care for our brand.” He has also received messages of support from acquaintances and strangers. “Thank you for all the support and involvement from everyone,” he concludes his story.
