Sports Innovation League wants to help startups working to increase sports participation

Focus on the younger target group

“The Dutch Lottery was founded by sports, for sports. With our contribution and as TeamNL’s biggest supporter, we encourage new generations to take up sports. The Sports Innovation League is now giving startups in the world of sports a boost to accelerate their innovation. We are bringing sports closer to everyone and taking the next step towards a happy, healthy and sporty Netherlands,” said Maurice Meijer, Chief Technology Officer of the Dutch Lottery.

Guido Daviau, Director of Recreational Sports at NOC*NSF: “It is great that innovative ideas and passionate entrepreneurs are being given an extra boost to increase sports participation. Younger groups in particular – who we want to reach – are sensitive to new concepts. So I am delighted with this initiative.”

Roy de Weerd, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Rockstart: “As a sports fan and a believer in the power of sports to unite communities, the Rockstart team and I are delighted to partner with the Dutch Lottery and NOC*NSF to launch the Sports Innovation League. With their expertise in sports in the Netherlands, combined with Rockstart’s commitment to supporting startups with specific goals, we aim to transform the Dutch sports sector. Our mission is clear: increase sports participation, increase engagement, and enhance the enjoyment of sports through innovative solutions and advanced technology.”
