The Brothership developer found out, and fans couldn’t believe it

Mario & Luigi: Brothership, the latest installment in the Mario RPG series coming to Nintendo Switch on November 7, is being co-developed by an outside company, one that has never collaborated with Nintendo in this way before: Acquire.

This Japanese studio was founded in 1994 and is famous for creating the Octopath Traveler games alongside Square Enix. However, in the past, the studio has also developed its own franchises, such as Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, Way of the Samurai, Shinobido: Way of the Ninja or Akiba’s Beat.

Although Aquire has made games for the Nintendo Switch (such as the Octopath Traveler RPGs, which were exclusive to the Switch), this is the first time they have worked directly with them as partners. Naturally, the game also has a lot of input from Nintendo, and Nintendo has previously confirmed that some people from Alphadream are working on this new game.

That’s why, since the announcement, fans have believed the developer to be ILCA, another studio that previously worked with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company on Pokémon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond, and employs several people from Alphadream, the studio that was making the now-defunct Mario & Luigi series. now. However, this was not the case.

The name of the developer (or co-developer with Nintendo) of Mario & Luigi: Brothership is found in the game’s copyright notes, as shared by Nintendo deal On Twitter.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership will be released on November 7 for Nintendo Switch. Some boxes for the game have already appeared, and it has also become clear that the game was developed using the Unreal Engine.
