On Thursday, October 31, 2024, a panel discussion will be held in Tableau (Decel) with the authors of the various booklets from the series. The skeptical outlook. This event is a collaboration between Science Café Kempen and SKEPP.
The skeptical outlook SKEPP is a series of easily accessible booklets on topics that can sometimes cause controversy.
Many of the booklets also highlight topics from the world of medicine: vaccinations, homeopathy, herbal medicine, cannabis as medicine, and healing stones. Different authors will explain their views on this topic. The discussion participants are: Dr. Fits Phils (neurologist), Dr. Marilyn ViñolsR (physician journalist and editor-in-chief of health and science), Dr. Patrick Vankronkelsven (GP and CEBAM Manager), Philip Van Beurden (Engineer and science generalist) and Claire Moynes (Gemologist and jewelry designer). The whole thing is supervised by Professor Dr. Dirk Devroy (GP and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy VUB).
In the first part of the evening, the different authors will give a brief explanation of the topic of their book and answer a number of questions from the moderator. It will soon become clear that many topics are interconnected. The second part is intended for the public who can ask all their questions to the committee on different topics.
