Queen Domino the cat has a great appearance. Her coat is so perfectly divided into orange and dark gray areas that it looks like her owner Joy painted them on. Bright yellow and clear blue eyes make the animal a real work of art. Indebuurt dropped to meet The queen herself.

Queen Domino is a 3-year-old British shorthair girl. She lives with the cats Frosty (10) and Honey (5) with owner Joey Antonio (57) in Zoetermeer.
From Belgium to Zoetermeer
Joy saw pictures of Domino as a kitten on Facebook a few years ago. I was immediately drawn to the cat’s appearance and instantly fell in love with her. I asked the Belgian breeder if Domino was for sale. Unfortunately that was not the case. Until the breeder called Joy at the end of last year and told her she could take over the cat. She was thrilled to pick up her new pet. She had to share her surprise at the appearance of her new family friend. That’s why I started one Instagram page To share photos of her cats.
Two types of DNA
Of course, Joey asked the breeder how Domino got her perfect look. “The breeder said the cat has chimerism.” The mother cat then becomes pregnant with two fetuses. Early in pregnancy, the embryos fuse into one. The cat then has cells containing two types of DNA, which ultimately creates this special appearance. Queen Domino once had a litter of kittens, one of which was also infected with chimerism. “Only the cat had two colors on the head and not on the body. The other cats were born without this condition.”

Meanwhile, Queen Domino has thousands of followers from all over the world. “The media in Germany and England wrote about it,” Joy says. “I regularly receive messages from followers who want to meet her in real life. But I’m not going to start that.” Joy regularly receives comments that Queen Domino doesn’t really exist, or that she is editing her photos. “Someone recently said I put her in colored contacts.”
Some people believe that dominoes do not really exist
Cat room
Joy’s living room is partly furnished as a cat room and photo studio. In the middle of the room there is a small bunk bed that can accommodate three cats. There’s also a scratching post that reaches up to the ceiling, a pink hanging basket and a china cabinet where the cats love to climb. Next to the kitchen is a dining table with various photographic cameras and a light screen behind it.
Joy uses the living room and backyard as the backdrop for her photos. There are dozens of roses in the garden that create a beautiful contrast with the colors of the cats. Joy does not allow her animals into the street. She sometimes lets Domino out with a belt around his body.

Learn tricks
Joy is trying to teach her cat tricks. Domino doesn’t seem to be very interested in it, but the white cat Frosty is the house’s acrobat. “My son has had hair from an early age Tricks I learned. “When I pat my chest, Frosty stands up straight with her paws in the air,” Joy says proudly. “If you say circular Then she turns in a circle.” But Queen Domino is ready to take pictures. “British animal photographer Team Flash He is working on a new book featuring special cats. He came to my house for one photo shoot With dominoes. The book will be published in the fall of 2025. Very nice!”
