The nine-year-old Buddy loves movies and grew up in Belfast in the late 1960s. It is a turbulent period for the working class family. A friend witnesses a land full of great chaos. Meanwhile, his parents are struggling with the idea of leaving Northern Ireland and starting a new life.
The cast includes Golden Globe nominees Caitriona Balfe, Academy Award winner Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds and 10-year-old Jude Hill. In the film, Jamie Dornan and Citriona Balvey play a passionate working-class couple who get involved in riots in Belfast, and we see Judi Dench and Kieran Hinds as loving and intelligent grandparents.
