B&O now has noise canceling earplugs

B&O has been making wireless earplugs for some time, but so far they haven’t had active noise cancellation (ANC), like many competitors, including AirPods Pro. the new Bioplay EQThe earplugs, which the Danish brand revealed today, have ANC. A separate chip provides noise reduction with six microphones that pick up ambient sounds and voices, so ANC can filter this out if desired.

B&O promises a battery life of 6.5 hours with noise reduction on and 7.5 hours with ANC off, and in combination with the charging box, the battery life is 20 hours. The aluminum case with a rubber base supports wireless charging. Twenty minutes of charging will give you two hours of listening time, says B&O.

The earplugs are splash and dust resistant (IP54). According to B&O, they can also stand up to sweat.

Beoplay EQs support Bluetooth 5.2 and SBC, AAC and aptX audio codecs. The earplugs come with silicone ear pieces in four sizes and a pair of foam.

Beoplay EQs will be available from August 19, in black and gold, for €399. This is much more expensive compared to competitors like AirPods Pro (279 euros) and Sony WF-1000XM4 (280 euros).
