The negative migration balance for the EU-27 is decreasing
The EU-27 as a whole has a negative migration balance with the United Kingdom, but this balance has fallen sharply. The number of European-born (EU-27) immigrants leaving the EU-27 and settling in the United Kingdom has increased in recent years. In contrast, the number of Europeans returning to the EU-27 from the United Kingdom increased sharply. This increase explains the shrinking migration balance. The number of Britons leaving the UK for the EU-27 or vice versa has remained virtually unchanged in recent years.
