According to rumors, a live-action Jak and Daxter movie is in the works. And none other than Tom Holland will take over the role of Jack, while Chris Pratt will provide his voice for Daxter. Both actors already have experience in game franchises that have appeared on the silver screen. Chris Pratt was the voice actor for Mario in the recent Super Mario Bros. movie. While Tom Holland played Nathan Drake in Uncharted. Ruben Fleischer, who previously directed Venom and Uncharted, among others, will also be in the director’s chair again for Jak and Daxter.

Revised October match schedule
Anyone keeping an eye on the release calendar must have seen that October is going to turn out to be an incredibly busy month for gamers. In just over a week, Forza Motorsport, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen, Alan Wake 2, Super Mario Wonder and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released. Busyness that publishers have also noticed in the meantime. Because of this, Alan Wake 2 pushed its release back by 10 days to October 27, while Assassin’s Creed Mirage now releases a week earlier than its October 5 release date. This way, everyone has more breathing room to play games before the next October movie is already in the queue.

Netflix is testing games on TV
A small number of Netflix users in Canada and the UK will soon be able to play games through Netflix on their TVs. The streaming platform is testing a new cloud gaming feature, which it has been working on for a while. Currently, Canadian and British fans can enjoy two games: Oxenfree and Molehew’s Mining Adventure. And your console? your smartphone! In addition to your TV, you can also play games on your PC or Mac. This way of offering games is the next step for Netflix, after it started offering mobile games via the app in 2021.

Xbox 360 is closing its store
If you’re still playing games on your Xbox 360, pay close attention. Because starting July 29, 2024, the Xbox 360 Store will be permanently closed. This means that you can no longer purchase new games, downloadable content (DLC), or other online content through the console. The Movies & TV app will also become unusable after that date. You will still be able to play the games you have already downloaded and the actual games will continue to work. As long as the multiplayer game publishers keep the servers online, you will also be able to play multiplayer games. Those who still want to purchase Xbox 360 games after July 29, 2024 can do so via Xbox One and the Xbox Series Store. There, Xbox 360 games remain for sale thanks to backward compatibility.
