Meghan makes first speech since leaving England

Meghan made her first UK speech after jetting off to California. Prince Harry’s wife spoke about youth at the One Young World Summit in Manchester, an annual gathering for young people who want to change the world. “It’s good to be back in England,” she began her story.

“I see the world through my children and try to imagine what the world will be like when they grow up,” she continues. “You are driving positive and necessary change around the world right now. I am so grateful to be with you today.

The Sussexes, who have been living in the US since returning to the British royal family in early 2021, were last in the UK in June. The prince and his wife had attended Queen Elizabeth’s coronation ceremony.

Last month it was announced that Harry and Meghan would be visiting the UK, where they would visit a number of charities. They will be in Manchester on Monday for a conference and in London on Thursday for the WellChild Awards, an awards ceremony for children and young people who face life-threatening conditions and illnesses in a variety of ways.
