Octopath Traveler 2 review: Buy, budget or scrap?

There is a new installment in the Octopath Traveler series and we have quite a few fans in the editors. Koss and Gilly were eager to test the game. The first part of the series was released in 2018 and has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. The second part would like to build on this success. It retains the distinctive HD-2D graphics that offer a mixture of old pixel art and 3D graphics and now wants to take it to a higher level. Did Square Enix match the quality of the first installment, or did it surpass it? You can see and hear the answer to this question in our Octopath Traveler 2 review.

Octopath 2 Traveler Review: Is it as good as the first part?

Octopath Traveler 2 follows eight new characters in a new setting separate from the previous games. The game takes place in the world of Solistia, a place that looks more modern than the medieval setting of the first part. The game’s main cast consists of dancer Agnia Bristarni. Partitio Yellowil, a merchant; Hikari Kou, warrior; Osvald V. Vanstein, researcher; Throne Anges, Thief; Temenos Mistral, a clergyman; Castti Florenz, pharmacist and Ochette, fisherman.

The stories of eight characters unite in one adventure

All eight have their own reasons for traveling. For example, Agnea is trying to become a world famous artist, Partitio just wants to make a lot of money and Osvald is looking for revenge on the man who ruined his life. All of these stories are brilliantly intertwined. The result should be a deep and challenging JRPG. But how good is Part 2? Is it highly recommended or is it better to wait for the game to hit the budget box? You will get the answer in our Octopath 2 Traveler review.
