Russia fire kills 11-year-old residents as monster fire engulfs retirement home | World | News

The incident took place at the House of Mercy care home in the Russian village of Ishbultino.

One member of staff helped three residents evacuate the building, but tragically, eleven died in the blaze due to movement-related problems.

The fire brigade was alerted to the House of Mercy home at 3 a.m. (2200 GMT Monday).

The retirement home is located in the Ural Mountains of western central Russia.

The fire in a one-story wooden building took three hours to exit.

An employee at the home was able to vacate the building with three-year-old residents.

Russia’s Commission of Inquiry has announced that it has launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman for Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the details of the emergency.

They said: “Four people (evacuated the site) on their own before firefighters arrived.”

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

A train fire broke out at London Victoria Station in the UK on Monday.

A Network Rail spokesman said there was a small fire outside the train coming to Platform 9.

Video footage from the scene showed the exit from the passenger station.

The statement read: “A small fire broke out at one of our sites in Victoria, London.
