Sander Decker will not return to the new government

Outgoing Minister Sander Decker (VVD) will not return in the new Rutte fourth government. In an interview with De Telegraaf on Monday, he said it was time for something different. Decker is already the third member of the current government to indicate that he will not return after formation. ChristenUnie butlers Paul Blokhuis and Arie Slob preceded him.

The 46-year-old Decker has been Minister for Legal Protection in the Rot 3 government since 2017. Prior to that, he was Minister of State for Education, Culture and Science from 2012 to 2017. “I once started as the youngest member of the government in a government,” he says in De Telegraaf. My second routine, but now I’m the founder of the company.” In response to Decker’s stated farewell, VVD leader Mark Root told the newspaper he was “respected and admired” for all he did for VVD and the Netherlands.

Decker does not yet know what he will do now that he leaves the government. “But my heart is in public affairs,” he says. How do we make the world we live in a little better? This will always be a touchstone for the next step. The new Rutte IV wardrobe is expected to be on the catwalk in January.
