The successor to the Nintendo Switch could be coming in the first quarter of 2024 — that’s the games

The Nintendo Switch continues to rack up impressive sales numbers, but now that it’s entering its seventh year of life, it’s clear that it won’t be long before Nintendo is ready to introduce its next-generation console. Leaks and speculation have consistently pinpointed the console’s launch in 2024, and a new report published by Chinese investment site MoneyDJ claims that the Switch’s successor will launch in the first quarter of 2024.

According to the report, the metal case manufacturer Hongzhun expects an increase in sales in the second half of this year, in part due to increased business with Nintendo, and due to the planned launch of the Nintendo Switch successor in the first quarter of 2024.

It’s not clear from the report if it refers to the first quarter of a calendar year or a fiscal year, but we can probably assume that the latter is the case given that Nintendo has indicated no new hardware launches in this fiscal year. on March 31, 2024).

At the beginning of 2023, it was reported that Nintendo had begun negotiations with suppliers to produce the next console, while Sharp CEO Robert Wu said shortly after that the company was producing LCD screens for an upcoming new game console.

Work on a Switch successor is rumored to be progressing well behind the scenes, but it won’t be released until Spring 2024 at the earliest. It was recently reported that a Spanish studio had received a device for Nintendo’s next console.
