Disable ads on Samsung Galaxy S21
You may have seen ads on your Samsung smartphone. The manufacturer does this consciously, even on very expensive models like Galaxy S21. Through ads, the manufacturer earns money or promotes its services or products. If you – really – don’t like commercials, you can happily turn them off.
Almost all ads on Dutch devices come via the Galaxy Store app. Abroad, Samsung is also pushing ads in several other apps, including the weather app and the mobile app. Doesn’t seem to happen here (yet?). The detailed plan below shows how to stop ads across the Galaxy Store.
- Open Galaxy Store
Get your device and open the Galaxy Store app. When it opens for the first time, you will be asked if you would like to receive news and offers. Do not do this.
- Select notifications
On the main screen of the Galaxy Store app, you’ll see three dashes at the top left. Click on this and then choose the gear at the top. This will take you to Settings. Make sure to uncheck Receive news and offers.
- Stop promotions
Now tap on Notifications at the bottom of the screen. You’ll see four categories of notifications, including promotions. Turn it off. Galaxy Store app won’t show you ads right now.
