Due to higher oil prices, the value of fossil fuel imports increased by 45 percent to 8.2 billion euros. About half of the €4.3 billion worth of chemical imports were pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products, of which pharmaceuticals were the most important. As for machinery (import value 5 billion euros), office machines and cars are mainly imported.
