You Didn’t Realize: Harry Potter Was Played By Someone Else In ‘Deathly Hallows’

The character is played by two different actors in Harry PotterGriphook is an elf in the Harry Potter film series. We first see him in the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The role of Griphook in this film is played by Verne Troyer, but the voice you hear belongs to Warwick Davis.

From small role to big role

When Hermione lies under torture to Bellatrix Lestrange that the Sword of Gryffindor is a fake, Bellatrix asks Griphook to confirm, which she gets. He, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are rescued by Dobby and successfully escape.

As Harry needs to retrieve the Horcrux from Bellatrix’s vault, Griphook reluctantly agrees to help them break into Gringotts in exchange for the Sword of Gryffindor. However, upon escaping, Griphook betrays them to the other goblins and flees with the sword. Griphook eventually dies in the aftermath at Gringotts and the Sword of Gryffindor disappears before Voldemort can see it. Despite Griphook’s claim that the sword belongs to the goblins, the sword reappears when Neville Longbottom pulls it from the Sorting Hat and uses it to behead Nagini.
