2K signs an exclusive multi-year agreement with Tiger Woods

2K enters into an exclusive multi-year partnership with Tiger Woods and acquires PGA Tour 2K21 HB Studios developer to work on future golf games.

One of the most famous golfers of all time signed a deal with 2K linking Woods’ name and appearance to the games. It will be featured exclusively in the PGA Tour 2K, or other golf games the company will make for years to come. Woods has also served as CEO and advisor for upcoming PGA Tour games, playing an active role in game development.

Tiger Woods said, “I look forward to returning to the video game scene, and with 2K and HB Studios, I have found the right partners to make this a reality.” “I am honored to share this opportunity and look forward to sharing my experience and opinions as we work together for the future of golf.”

The letter says HB Studios’ latest version of the PGA Tour has sold “nearly two million times”, and that the studio will be fully 2K when the acquisition closes in the first quarter of 2021. The financial numbers for the acquisition or the deal have not been discussed.

Previously, 2K unveiled a partnership with OneTeam Partners and the NFL Players Association to add “Outstanding Footballers” in future NFL 2K matches.
