3 new wide angle lenses from Sony

Sony is expanding its lens range even further with the introduction of the Powerzoom G Lens E PZ 10-20mm F4 G, the Versatile E 15mm F1.4 G Lens, and the 11mm F1.8 Ultra Wide Prime Lens .

E PZ 10-20 mm F4 G

The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G is 20% lighter than its predecessor (SEL1018), making it the smallest and lightest lens in its class. This lens weighs only 178 grams.

In addition, the lens uses internal zoom and focus mechanisms and therefore does not change in length when zooming in or focusing. The shifts in the center of gravity are minimal, which makes it suitable for still vlogs and movie shooting.

The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G features an electronic electric zoom system that provides instant control and an adjustable zoom speed. Powerzoom reduces camera shake, allowing photographers to produce smooth, steady images and map buttons on supported Alpha series cameras.

Fast-moving objects are reliably tracked when images are continuously being produced at a high speed.

Users can attach 62mm filters such as variable ND filters to this lens. This provides more creative control. The lens is designed to be dust and moisture resistant for added reliability when used outdoors.

E 15mm, F1.4 G, 35mm

The large maximum aperture of F1.4 facilitates smooth background bokeh production for artistic effect. The background can be blurry so that subjects stand out clearly or there is beautiful bokeh in low light shots.

With a focus distance of at least 0.17m and a maximum magnification of 0.15x when using manual focus, close-up shots can be easily captured for both stills and movies.

The lightweight E 15mm F1.4 G lens weighs just 219g and measures 66.6mm in diameter and 69.5mm in length. The wide angle of view, compact design and low weight make this lens ideal for shooting starry skies, landscapes, architecture and indoor shots, as well as subjects that require mobility, such as sports.

Camera speed can be used to focus precisely even on moving objects. Sony’s latest lens technology reduces focal breathing, and breathing compensation provided in compatible α-series bodies reduces breathing that can hinder post-shooting.

The focus mode switch allows you to quickly switch between auto focus and manual focus as needed. Finally, the E 15mm F1.4 G is engineered to resist dust and moisture. This provides additional reliability for outdoor use in challenging conditions.

E 11 mm F1.8, 35 mm

The E 11mm F1.8’s ultra-wide angle of view is ideal for indoor shots and photos that use depth of field.

The APS-C Primary 11mm F1.8 and 35mm Ultra Wide Angle Camera delivers excellent corner-to-corner resolution, beautiful bokeh, and fast, reliable AF. This ensures clear visual expression and improved selfies.

The E 11mm F1.8 lens has a large maximum aperture of F1.8 in a compact and lightweight lens. Weighing 181 grams, it measures just 66mm in diameter and 57.5mm in length – a perfect match for the compact APS-C sized cases.

Here, too, Sony’s latest lens technology reduces focal breathing. In addition, the internal focusing mechanism ensures that the length of the lens does not change while focusing.

Despite its compact size, this lens offers flexible and easy-to-use operation with features such as a focus button and focus mode switch. An alternate function selected by the user can be assigned to the focus hold button from the camera menu.

Dust and moisture resistant design provides added reliability for outdoor use in challenging conditions.
