But then a group of immigrants got angry on the southeast edge of town, where there is a large parking lot for trucks. According to eyewitnesses, the migrants threw themselves at the officers very violently, according to local media. The officers defended themselves with tear gas and weapons that fired non-lethal shells or bullets. Calais is a base for many immigrants to go to England in trucks, trains or boats.
