A wolf killed on a regional road in the Netherlands | Abroad

On Saturday morning, a wolf was killed on County Road N224 near Eddy. She may have lived a lonely in Midden-Veluwe for years. This can only be said with certainty if an autopsy is performed on the animal, according to Gelderland County.




The wolf was injured around 11 am when the animal crossed the road. The chauffeur has warned a Natuurmonumenten forester and a wildlife manager from Ede municipality. The dead wolf will be transferred to the Dutch Wildlife Center at Utrecht University. There is an autopsy and further veterinary examination.

This is not the first time that a wolf has been killed in Feloe. Exactly a year ago, a motorist encountered a young wolf from the first wolf nest in North Veluwe. The injured animal still escaped into the woods, but was found dead near the impact site shortly thereafter.
