Adriaan van Dis cannot present VPRO Zomergasten this season due to his health condition. The broadcaster reported this. The decision was made by van Dis himself, but on the “advice of the treatment specialists”.
“Obviously VPRO finds this a shame, but Adrian’s health comes first. VPRO wishes him a speedy recovery,” the broadcaster said in a statement. VPRO did not say exactly what the 77-year-old writer owns.
“To my great regret, I must stop now. I expect a speedy recovery,” Van Dis said in a press release.

The show’s presentation will be presented by previous presenters. They are Janine Abring, Gelle Brandt Curstius, Hanneke Grüntmann, Pieter van Engen, Margrethe van der Linden and Joris Luyendyk.
The season can be seen from July 21. Who will be the guests will be announced later. Last year, Zomergasten was presented for the first time by Theo Maassen. Before that, Abring was the host for six seasons.
