Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy 7 Remake may come to the Epic Games Store

Data from the Epic Games Store indicates that the PC Store will offer both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and an unannounced Alan Wake remaster.

Both games have been added under a code name, but the real names can be seen in the “cloud storage” folders. Alan Wake Remastered is located under ‘hairstyling“while the Final Fantasy 7 Remake”Pineapple‘ Hot.

This is not a guarantee that the games will actually appear on the service, they were published in 2019 and 2020 and only seem to be discovered now. Both titles got an update this year, although it could be more than just a placeholder.

In 2020, we learned that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will remain exclusive to PlayStation until at least April 2021, and now that that deadline has passed, it is possible for the game to be released on PC in the near future. The Intergrade Enhanced Edition of the game will be PS5 exclusive for six months. If Square Enix wants to bring the next generation upgrade to PC, we’re looking forward to the December release as soon as possible.

Alan Wake Remastered has yet to be officially announced, but it would make sense to get an Epic Games Store version. We know that developer Remedy is currently developing two games for Epic, both in a shared world. We also know that one of these projects has the title AAA, while the other is a smaller project, possibly a modified version of Alan Wake’s game.
