For the vast majority Galaxy Tab S6 Users finally got the Android 12 upgrade available in the Netherlands. The new software is finally arriving in the Wi-Fi model (SM-T860), having previously appeared for the 4G version (SM-T865).
Galaxy Tab S6 update: Android 12
In fact, it’s been streaming into the Low Countries for quite some time: the Android 12 update for the Galaxy Tab S6. It has been available for some time for the 4G model (SM-T865) – as well as on all Belgian models. But most Dutch users simply have the Wi-Fi variant with the model number SM-T860. Prior to that, the upgrade was not available for download for a long time. But now it is.
Firmware version T860XXU4DVD6 (4G variant: T865XXU5DVD2) brings a number of improvements to the Galaxy Tab S6. For example, there is a newer security patch, if it is not the most recent (March). Most important, of course, is the arrival of Android 12 and One UI 4.1. It has all kinds of new features, like color palette† This allows you to match the colors of the foreground to the background image. But there are also innovations like Enhanced Game improvement serviceand a privacy indication if a microphone and/or camera is used, and the amp RAM Plus Function – and much more.
Since this is a major upgrade, the software needs time to re-optimize itself after installation. During this process – which takes several hours or days – the power consumption of your Galaxy Tab S6 may be higher than you are used to. However, this returns to normal after a while.
INSTALLATION AND AVAILABILITY
In the Netherlands, you can now download Android 12 directly, over the air on all Galaxy Tab S6 models. In Belgium, the upgrade has been available on both models for some time. As always, you can wait for it to get the update automatically, or you can start it manually via Settings -> Software update -> Download and install†
