Bahamas beauty reminds William of ‘James Bond holiday’

Prince William praised the beauty of the archipelago before leaving the Bahamas. The Duke of Cambridge thought back to the “James Bond vacation” he used to live there when he was a little boy, writes HELLO! Saturday Magazine.

William and Catherine were particularly impressed by the beauty and warmth of the Bahamas. “Catherine and I have seen this everywhere we were on our first official visit to your beautiful islands,” William said at a reception the night before departure.

The Duke of Cambridge noted that it wasn’t his first time in the Bahamas. I used to come here when I was a kid with my mother. “Diving along shipwrecks from the James Bond movies off the coast of Nassau gave me very vivid memories of your beautiful blue waters,” William said. “For the young boy obsessed with 007, it was the best vacation ever.”

William and his wife Catherine’s eight-day trip across the Caribbean ended after their visit to the Bahamas on Saturday. The first stop on their Caribbean tour was in Belize, then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge moved to Jamaica. These visits were partially overshadowed by protests from local residents against the arrival of members of the royal family due to, among other things, the UK’s role in the slavery past.
