US President Joe Biden will visit the United Kingdom and Belgium in June. This is his overseas trip as president.
Biden will attend the NATO summit in Belgium on June 14 at the Coalition headquarters in Brussels.
“President Biden will reaffirm US commitment to NATO, Atlantic security and joint security,” the White House said in a statement. Under Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump, relations between the United States and European NATO countries came under some pressure.
In addition, the US President will attend the EU-US Summit in Brussels. Discussions include the fight against epidemics, the recovery of the world economy and the fight against climate change. European Council President Charles Michael also confirmed the meeting on Twitter on Friday.
United Kingdom
Prior to his visit to Belgium, Biden will attend the G7 Summit in Cornwall, England from June 11 to 13. He will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with G7 leaders, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
