The United Kingdom will host a global summit on artificial intelligence (AI) security this fall. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced this in Washington on Wednesday. The matter was discussed during the British Prime Minister’s conversation with US President Joe Biden on Thursday.
Sunak said the summit will discuss the risks of AI and how they can be mitigated through international agreements. But we’re also looking at how we can harness the potential of this new technology.
“AI has incredible potential to change our lives for the better. But we need to ensure that it is developed and used in a safe manner.”
“Throughout history, we’ve invented amazing technologies and used them for the good of humanity. And that’s what needs to happen again.”
Many countries are already discussing creating rules to prevent the dangers of AI. That includes China, billionaire Elon Musk said after meeting with officials during his recent trip.
