British minister and employee accused of sexual offenses | Abroad

One said she was assaulted, and the other said she was inappropriately detained.

The first woman was a former employee of the Conservative Party. She told the news channel that the minister in question – who is still in the government – continued to pour her wine, although it was clear that she was already drunk. When she wanted to go to bed, he said he wouldn’t leave her alone. “The next morning I woke up and noticed what had happened,” she testified.

The woman says she had reason to believe that the story was well-known in political circles, but that it did not hinder the man’s career. “I was in my early twenties and didn’t know how to deal with it,” she says. She did not file a complaint, neither to the police nor to the party. It sounds like ‘I was scared’.

The other woman – also a Conservative party worker – was kidnapped by a man, later named one of the prime minister’s top aides. When they lodged a complaint, it did not work. According to several witnesses, the head of the perpetrator would have said that he did not believe it, because the man was “so handsome and the women threw themselves at his feet.”

Both the government and the Conservative Party said in response that there are procedures for such incidents and that they are always closely followed.
