So far, the British have only given one injection of vaccines, of which two doses are required for optimum protection. In this way they wanted to make the largest possible number of the population partially immune as quickly as possible. This month, the UK NHS Health Service also wants to start customizing second doses to people who have already had the first shot.
The rate of vaccination
The second doses were to be administered from mid-March. The government is convinced that it will not slow down the rate of vaccination for people who need to receive a first dose.
In our country it is a little slower. Since we started vaccinations at the end of December, 328,623 people have received at least one injection (2.86 percent). 93,303 people have already been fully vaccinated (0.81 percent).
